About Sugar Beach Resort
Centrally located, Sugar Beach Resort rests on Maalaea Bay, on the state’s longest stretch of uninterrupted shore. Sugar Beach, named for its fine white sand, is a six-mile-long beach excellent for swimming, snorkeling, windsurfing, kayaking, canoe paddling or for just relaxing. Gaze at the spectacular sunsets, watch for whales (in season) or swim with green sea turtles—the opportunities are limitless. After a day of fun in the sun and surf or sightseeing adventures around the island, return to Sugar Beach Resort to enjoy the oceanfront swimming pool, whirlpool spa, wading pool, sundeck, putting green and sauna. The resort has a barbecue area and dining tables with a full ocean view, an activities center, an on-site convenience store and a Deli with a bar. Tropically furnished units have full kitchens, cable TV, telephone, in-room washer/dryers and private lanais to relax and enjoy Kihei’s gentle trade wind breeze.
In the middle of the two buildings lies the saline pool and barbeque area. The saline pool is very therapeutic and free of chemicals and the pool area is partially covered providing shade for some of the tables and chairs. Each condominium unit has an ocean view, with stunning vistas of the Pacific Ocean sunsets every evening. At the properties makai (ocean side) boundary, it gives way to miles and miles of sandy, sun-drenched beach. If you enjoy going for long, relaxing walks on the beach, Sugar Beach will feel like home. World-class golf, five-star restaurants, exclusive island shops, and the famous Kihei Farmers Market are minutes away.
South Maui is the perfect place for your family’s seafaring adventures. The warm, tropical climate and gentle waters are just right for sailing, fishing, snorkeling, scuba diving, whale watching, or just relaxing on the deck. Book a day trip on board one of Maui’s many excellent tour boats to enjoy a refreshing, open ocean perspective and close up views of our favorite visitors, the humpback whales (whales are seasonal visitors, usually here from November – April). Get out for a little island sight-seeing adventure during your stay on Maui. There are many diverse climates and eco-systems nearby, offering your family wonderful opportunities for exploring. Some of Maui’s most spectacular scenery is accessible by car, so driving tours are a fantastic family outing.
